Today has been a day of catching up (hi LJ!), staying warm, and visiting family for holiday cheer. I've found some new-to-me interesting folk to add to the LJ friend's list. It has been good to ease myself back here into the community after losing touch for so long. I am always emailing articles from work with notes to post about stuff(as reading news can be worked around as research while reading/posting to LJ cannot) but never find the energy to log in after work to do the writing.

I believe the loss of connecting to LJ started when I gave up the ghost on my old MAC laptop. When getting on the computer (for anything) meant going into the back room and isolate myself in my "office" at home rather than sitting on the couch and posting while socializing. That and the fact that having a full time job after all those years of being a student were draining of time/energy/inclination.

There was also my discovery of Twitter. I do find it fun to communicate there and, though some of you here are also there, I have very much missed my circle here.

Now my biggest hurdle is managing the internet on a machine that has no Flash capabilities. And discovering how to use the device to its fullest potential. We shall see if I persevere.

Regardless, know that I am at least reading and commenting if not actively posting as much as I used to in my student days. I'm not so far gone of them to recall them as idyllic (they were stressful as he'll a lot of the time); however, I do miss the greater amount of time that I was able to devote to interacting with people here on LJ.

Oh... And a scroll bar on the side (which doesn't resolve on my screen here) would be great for that last sentence I wrote a while back and can no longer get to. Even a down arrow to get to the line would be appreciated. Looks like I'll be breaking out that wireless keyboard after all. *smack self on forehead*

Lastly, will enjoy decorating tree at MILs - while eating Chinese take-out. Will. Enjoy. Actually, it is usually enjoyable, I'm just not as big of a traditional Xmas type as the DH and family and it makes me cranky and grinchy at times.

I'm glad that work has been at such a mad pitch, but I really would like some down time to catch up on my usual duties.
