Good times. Good times.

No power in the Verse can get me to tell you what happened in the movie. However - there are a few things I can tell you that happened at the theater.

I got a free keychain. Yay. ::jingle jingle::

There was a bunch of PR people there, and there was a group of dressed up movie patron/fans who got in front of the camera to sing the theme song.

I got to the theater at 7:45 PM (film to start at 10 PM) and there were already 30 people in the "corral" ahead of me.

After most of us were seated, approximately twenty minutes to go-time, there was spontaneous breaking into song, in which almost everyone participated - including a very touching rendition of "Jayne."

The PR people did a vocal survey of the crowd, for demographics. It seemed that 20% of the people in the theater were not from CT. Lots of people from NY, some from MA. Not surprising.

It was truly an amazing experience watching a film (even if it wasn't fully post-production, and that is no spoiler, common knowledge) where all of the people in the theater are totally into it. Sometimes annoyingly over-reactingly so... Heh.

I'm actually verging on upset at this point that I haven't been able to get to see it, despite trying to get tickets several times. I hate that we have a showing in a theater that only seats a few hundred in a metro area of 8 fucking million people. I'm probably not going to be able to see this until September - a person that actually watched the original eposides in their original run on Fox should NOT have to wait 6 month to see this if they want to see it now. :-(

A few words on getting tickets: Check the site cantstopthesignal.com (I'm pretty sure that's the address) daily - early in the AM. Have movietickets.com bookmarked as well, specifically your theater. (The theater(s) closest to you known to have had Serenity showings so far.) If all else fails, you should also know that they held back a small amount of tickets for the DAY OF the show, (this time, I don't know about the previous showing) the people slightly ahead of us in line were lucky enough to check MT.com early in the morning day of and found tickets on sale. Tickets at the Manchester CT site (listed as Hartford on the CSTS site) started selling their tickets later in the day but I can't guarantee that this will happen again.

My guess is that they will have these showings once a month until September.

Keep positive Browncoat! It will be so worth the effort of your vigilence. Good luck. You too will get your keychain!
