I predict that there will be a giant upsurge of lung cancer (and others, but the primary one affecting the lungs) in China. It's like they need to learn the hard way as the United States and Western Europe did during our initial industrializations.

Trucks Power China’s Economy, at a Suffocating Cost
By KEITH BRADSHER

GUANGZHOU, China — Every night, columns of hulking blue and red freight trucks invade China’s major cities with a reverberating roar of engines and dark clouds of diesel exhaust so thick it dims headlights.

By daybreak in this sprawling metropolis in southeastern China, residents near thoroughfares who leave their windows open overnight find their faces stiff with a dark layer of diesel soot.

I've posted about this before, back on LJ. That post was about the waste and pollution problems that are rampant in China. One would think that they could learn from our mistakes.

First sentence or two of the first post from each month this year:

January: Aaarrgh!

February: “Because the number of birth-giving machines and devices is fixed, all we can ask for is for them to do their best per head,” he said.

March: Okay, any theories people because I am just well... I don't think they could kill off her character.

April: Hello there strangers!

May: I got all the way through the first out of three problems on my take home final as well as finishing the basic outline (based on class notes & powerpoint presentations) for my other final.

June: All previous reports are bullshit.

July: Hey out there!

August: Got this from Petsmart today along with this because one of our cats is getting cantankerous and old and well... Kind of like CoB really.

September: I pity the fool (Windows XP good, Vista bad)

October: If there were something you could take after experiencing a painful or traumatic event that would permanently weaken your memory of what had just happened, would you take it?

November: The key is the density of the network - to make it convenient enough to the consumer to make it worth their while.

December: A couple of weeks ago CoB's dad calls me and we start talking about finding a firing range somewhere nearby that we can go to for target shooting.

Just found a new search engine... or a parody of Google. Haven't quite determined the authenticity yet.

It is Doogle - The Feckin' Search Engine of Ireland

The first thing I did was hit the "I feel bolloxed" button as I couldn't think of a thing to search for. First on the hit parade was Bollox.net. There is so much that is wrong, but at the same time, amusing in a "I can't believe I just laughed at that" embarrassed feeling.

The first picture I came to that I felt like sharing was this one:

a picture listed in the advert group on the side, an advertisement for National Geographic Channel's Shark Week.
